SOUTH CARIBOO HEALTH CENTRE

100 Mile House, British Columbia, Canada

FUNCTION: The landscape design for this hospital was driven by four elements: increased demand for all services, addition of a new psychiatric unit, the addition of a wing for the well and fragile elderly, and an alzheimer's garden for an existing multi-level care facility.

DESIGN: Because of these additions the following changes were made:

  • A new central building with connections to the two existing facilities

  • Additional parking

  • Two new main entries for the additional functions

  • Senior's daycare centre and patio

  • Enclosed garden for the well and fragile elderly

  • New enclosed garden for the confused elderly in Millsite Lodge

  • General upgrade of the hospital campus.
